http://dmergent.org/2010/07/15/reclaimi...GOD IS...

http://dmergent.org/2010/07/15/reclaiming-god/

(an excerpt)
"God is love and grace. These are the two most important characteristics of God that define who God is and who God always has been and who God always will be. God is timeless. More precisely, God is beyond time, beyond the constraints and confines and control and currents of time. God is not bound by the events or expectations or dimensions or constructs of this universe. In the same way that God is beyond time, God exceeds the bounds and bonds of this universe while being constantly present and immediately accessible in the universe. Even so, God has bounds. God is bound by love and grace; – God is bound by the conditions imposed by the act of creation by a God of love and grace; – and God is bound by the conditions imposed by a God of love and grace being in relationship with creation."Doug Sloannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664821601466952220.post-12280791444044323102010-07-14T07:05:43.758-07:002010-07-14T07:05:43.758-07:00Transformational Experiences, as you've noted,...Transformational Experiences, as you've noted, don't necessarily arrive in the form of some supernatural revelation. In my Feminist work, we've been recently using the term "click moment" to describe when someone experienced that paradigm shift and got it.

We may be able to encourage or seek to facilitate someone's transformational experience, but when it arrives and in how it arrives is a matter of which we have no control. But it is my experience that people who are receptive to it and go into the experience with an open mind are most likely to find it.Comrade Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11393718048145784837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664821601466952220.post-37604980747879388872010-07-14T05:48:57.701-07:002010-07-14T05:48:57.701-07:00I often ask myself how I can open myself up to tho...I often ask myself how I can open myself up to those experiences. It can be so difficult when you're busy. You know what I love about counseling? It forces me to bring everything down to a softer level and devote all my patience and love to another person for 50 minutes. You don't have a problem connecting with people, you social thing you, but the opportunity to be in the presence of someone else in that vulnerable state is a humbling honor for me. Just felt like saying all that, haha.
My other solution (and I'm not being cheeky here) : go to the woods. The quiet does amazing things. : )Kellinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664821601466952220.post-87218103965764817182010-07-13T11:10:09.067-07:002010-07-13T11:10:09.067-07:00Thanks for the post, Greg!

Hospitality is part of creating a space where transformation can happen. God has to do that work and people have to choose to respond positively towards it, but we can be a part of that process by creating transformational spaces, much like those who where there for you as you were changed.Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10698234299108455227noreply@blogger.com
